Mount To Coast T1: My First Trail Shoe

I got my hands on the Mount 2 Coast T1 as my first trail shoe. I had a 100km race coming up and no idea what I was doing. These shoes carried me through it.

What I Like

They last. I've run over 100km a week during peak training, finished three ultras, and the shoes still feel solid. The cushioning doesn't disappear after 50km. It just keeps going.

The grip. 4mm lugs, same as the heel-to-toe drop. I take downhills faster than I should. The shoe holds.

The dual laces. Two separate lacing zones. I can tighten the front for technical stuff, loosen the top when my feet swell on long runs. Simple. Effective. I use it more than I expected.

They handle weather. Hong Kong in June is humid and wet. The shoes drain, don't waterlog, and the grip stays on slick roots.

What to Know

Price. They're not cheap. But I've spent more on race entries than on these shoes, and the shoes lasted longer. If you're serious about trail running, it's worth it.

They're not flashy. No gimmicks. Just a shoe that works for a long time.

Why I Stay With the Brand

Mount 2 Coast cares about their audience. They design for people who run far, not people who want to look like they do.

I'm still new to ultras. But I trust these shoes. That's enough for now.
